How do I Calculate my Life Path Number?
Your Life Path does "what it says on the can" - it offers an insight into the path that you'll take in life. This includes the direction you take in choosing a job or career, your ambitions and interests and the achievements that you strive for. It also offers guidance with regards to the path you take in relationships, be they romantic or friendly.
Do I share the same Life Path as others?
Glad that you asked! The answer to this question is, yes - your Life Path number can be any one of the numbers from 1 to 9, and/or one of the Master Numbers in numerology - double-digit numbers of significance, which are 11, 22 and 33. While you may share the same number as millions of other people, the interpretation of this number and appropriating it to each individual's life is what numerology is all about, as you'll discover when you read the meaning of your life number.
How do I calculate it?
This aspect of numerology is one of the easiest to calculate. It involves simply your date of birth. Follow the directions below to calculate it:
Step 1: Reduce your day, month and year of birth
Reduction is a important method to master in numerology. All it involves is the adding of each digit in a number, to generate another whole number, then repeating this adding with the product until you have a single digit number. For example:
Reducing the Year: 1999
Take the numbers 1, 9, 9 and 9 and add them. The result is 28. Because this is still a number consisting of more than one digit, we add these numbers together again. So, 2+8=10. And again, we have a 2-digit number: 1+0=1.
You also need to reduce the day and month. For example, to reduce the 31st as a day:
31st = 3 + 1 = 4
We convert the month to it's position in the year. Below you'll find a table of months, their numbers and their reduced numbers:
Reduced Month Numbers for Life Path calculation:
Month Month Number Reduced Number Month Month Number Reduced Number January 1 =1 July 7 =7 February 2 =2 August 8 =8 March 3 =3 September 9 =9 April 4 =4 October 10 =1+0=1 May 5 =5 November 11 =1+1=1* June 6 =6 December 12 =1+2=3
* For November, the number 11 is of significance in numerology as its original 2-digit form. It's one of the Master Numbers: 11, 22 and 33.
Example:
Let's take an example date of birth and reduce it: 21st of June, 1985
2+1 = 3
June = 2
1985 = 23 = 2+3 = 5
Step 2: Add and reduce the day, month and year
You should have 3 seperate 1-digit numbers; each for the day, month and year of the date of birth. Add these together and reduce. For the above example, 21st of June, 1985, we add 3, 2 and 5 to obtain 10. This number must be reduced as it's more than one-digit in length. 1 + 0 = 1, and now we have our Life Path Number!
